There is a mistake- what youve mentioned about the Shabbat is correct only for religous people. In Tel Aviv, most of the population is secular, so these costums are not so common, but yes, most of the shops and restaurants are closed on friday evening and saturday and there is no public transportation. Because of that, saturday in Israel is the best day to go to the beach, and there you’ll find also open restaurants on saturday.
